Little Stars are the bright lights, those special people, in our lives.

In Rose Carrousel's self-produced EP, Little Stars, unguarded, intimate, optimistic story telling blends with magical, glitchy electronica, vintage beats, acoustic instruments and subtle harmonies to make her folktronica and lo-fi electro. She writes, records and produces her heart-on-sleeve, melody laced creations.

Tracks on this project have received financial assistance and support from the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, and the Queensland University of Technology.

The name Rose Carrousel is inspired by the ideas of looking at the world through rose-coloured glasses…the way a carousel turns and spins and offers constantly new perspectives. And Rose Carrousel references the French spelling to connect her affection for the joy of French culture and the original carousel in Montmartre that inspired her name.

In Rose Carrousel she develops further her earlier experimental electronica with My Cerulean Heart and Dizzygotheca.

She has performed or released in France, England, the USA, Slovakia, and Australia. She has been Highly Commended in the Queensland Song of the Year (2012, 2013). Her track “Street Lights” was selected for inclusion on “Twelve: The Best of IMP’s 100 Songs Project 2011” (part of QUT’s Independent Music Project (IMP)) and her track “Little Beat” was nominated for a QSong Award (2008). Through the Lady Electronica collective she is a successful Australia Council and Arts Queensland grant recipient. She has been mentored by and collaborated with Wally De Backer, Quan Yeomans, Scott Horscroft, Lawrence English, Julian Knowles, Donna Hewitt, Phil Graham, Mike Howlett and others. She uses Ableton Live software. Her vocal and production styles have been compared with New Buffalo, The Postal Service, Stars and Beach House.

Rose Carrousel also is a scientist with a PhD in environmental science. Read more at her blog at www.rosecarrousel.com.

Track Name: Wilderness
Lyrics:

Verse:
Bright eyes, I get a little hopeful
that when I wake up you'll be there
sunlight in your hair

There's a wilderness in you
I adventure to

I hold my breath
this calmness as I hold you
You're so exciting
A wild thing
between these sheets

Chorus:
I wake up make you breakfast
I wonder, could you love me
More than just in my dreams
I'm high on you
This bright light in your words
You speak the truth or do you?

Verse:
There's this beast in you
Wants to consume me
And leave me tomorrow
And I'm beautiful still

The owls in the forest say
"He'll break your heart"
But I go willingly
Cos that's the only game you know

Chorus.

Verse:
Maybe I'll find
Some new lover tomorrow
But I'll still remember you

And how I tried so hard
Not to need you tonight
And how tomorrow
By the ocean
With the birds in my hair
I'm still yours
My love on this one night stand
My love, my night time dare

Chorus.
Track Name: Feathers
Don't worry so much, keep my head up
I have never managed to stay
Friends with anyone before
But I've never felt this way before

You matter so much, darling
When I see you I catch my breath
I've got to swallow my pride
Got to keep my heart safe

Chorus:
You were all I ever wanted
You were all I ever needed
How'd our words become disaster?
I'll try to speak without the words
Exploding

Verse:
You matter so much, darling
You were everything I wanted
You were all I ever needed
We could stitch it up, darling

I guess I said something wrong
and it lead to this disaster?
I still feel like I belong to you

Chorus:
You were all I ever wanted
You were all I ever needed
How'd our words become disaster?
I'll try to speak without the words
Exploding

Break:
You... matter so much darling
You were all I ever wanted
I swear, Angel

You…you were all I ever wanted
You were all I ever needed
I'll try to speak without the words

Chorus:
You were all I ever wanted
You were All I ever needed
How'd our words become disaster?
I'll try to speak without the words
Exploding

You were all I ever wanted
You were All I ever needed
How'd our words become disaster?
I'll try to speak without the words
Exploding
Track Name: Pinot Noir
caught up in the headlights
having a little wine
i'm in a little taxi
following you to your house

i hope in 20 years time
you'll see this in a good light
you won't just think i'm crazy
you won't just think i'm out of control oh

ch:
i love you but you know
its time to let it all go
i'm banging on your window
oh

am i out of control
am i losing it all?

i see you in your perfection
it drives me kind of crazy
I see you you're perfection
i know you think i'm hazy

..Oh am I out of control?
darling ? oh..

i saw you at my party
i was having a little wine
you tell me not to play games
but why are you even here baby?

ch:
i love you but you know
its time to let it all go
im banging on your window
oh

am i out of control
am i losing it all?

ch:
